Bridget Jones author hires a hunky manny
BRIDGET JONES creator Helen Fielding continues to emulate her hapless fictional heroine. Just as Bridget, who was immortalised by Renee Zellweger on the big screen, hires a nanny after her husband Mark Darcy suddenly dies, so Fielding, 57, has now hired a ‘manny’ — also known as a male nanny.
Fielding has clearly developed a close bond with her assistant, who looks after her children, aged nine and 11, at her North London home. The single blonde was seen embracing the man, who favours beaded bracelets and an earring.
Fielding has much in common with unlucky-in-love Bridget, whose male suitors were depicted by Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. She has never married, despite being engaged to scriptwriter Kevin Curran — father of her children — for ten years before they split in 2009.
