WHAT on earth is the world coming to when an off-the- cuff humorous remark by Peter Alliss, one of the best ad-libbers on the planet, arouses the ire and angst of the PC brigade?

What makes it worse is that Auntie Beeb felt the need to apologise. Sometimes I’m glad to be closer to going out than coming in.
