Yobs attack Leeds fans

-

THERE were shameful scenes as Leeds United fans were attacked by Eintracht Frankfurt hooligans after a pre-season friendly in Austria. Local police blamed supporters from the German club for starting the trouble, which led to 25 arrests and left a number of fans bloodied and bruised. About 100 Frankfurt supporters, some wearing balaclavas, confronted a group of Leeds fans on the pitch following the German club’s 2-1 win. The rival fans exchanged kicks and punches moments after the players had left the pitch at the stadium. EVERTON fear winger Gerard Deulofeu could miss the start of the season after he damaged his hamstring. The Spaniard, who joined Everton on July 1 from Barcelona for £4.2million, faces at least three weeks out after pulling up in Saturday’s friendly with Arsenal. MICHEL PLATINI (right) will delay any announcement on standing for the FIFA presidency until after Saturday’s 2018 World Cup preliminary draw.
