Was death of Whitney Houston’s daughter a murder?
THE death of Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown could result in a murder investigation, it emerged last night.
the aspiring singer died aged 22 on Sunday night, six months after she was found face-down in a bath at her home in Georgia. She had been in a medically-induced coma and was said to have suffered ‘irreversible brain damage’.
Her distraught family were at her bedside as her condition deteriorated over the weekend. Her death comes three and a half years after her famous mother died aged 48 in a bath at a hotel in Beverly Hills. Her death was ruled as accidental.
According to US sources last night, officials are preparing to open a murder investigation into Bobbi Kristina’s death.
When she was found, there were bruises on her face and body. She was also said to have been found with swollen lips and a missing tooth. the Fulton County medical examiner said there will be an investigation into her suspected ‘non-natural death’.
there was speculation yesterday that her boyfriend Nick Gordon is likely to be a person of interest.
Representatives of Bobbi Kristina have already filed lawsuits against Gordon, claiming he took money from her and physically abused her. He was also banned from visiting her by her family.
A statement said: ‘the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown has been reported to the Fulton County medical examiner’s office in accordance with state death i nvestigation l aws requiring investigation of known or suspected non- natural deaths. despite the long interval between her being found unresponsive and her death, an autopsy will still be necessary to further evaluate possible causes of death or contributing factors.’
Bobbi Kristina, whose father is singer Bobby Brown, was the sole heir to her mother’s £13million fortune, prompting speculation about who would now inherit the singer’s millions.
Both Miss Houston and Brown struggled with substance abuse and divorced when their daughter was 14. Following a funeral service this week in Atlanta, Bobbi Kristina’s body will be flown to New jersey where she will be buried alongside her mother.
A f amily spokesman said: ‘Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away july 26, 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God.’
A relative said Brown, was ‘very emotional’ about his daughter’s death but knows ‘that she is in a better place now’. last night Bobby Brown said he was ‘completely numb’. He called his daughter an ‘angel’ and said: ‘Our loss is unimaginable’.
Gordon was said to be ‘out of control with regret and sadness’ after learning of her death.
Singer dionne Warwick, 74, who was Miss Houston’s cousin, paid tribute to Bobbi Kristina, saying: ‘She was a sweetheart and she will be missed. She was a good little girl, she really was.’
