Beatrice, the ocean-going freeloader!

She parties in Ibiza 3 weeks into new job

SHE has only just landed herself a new job after more than eight months of being unemployed.

But that didn’t stop Princess Beatrice taking some time off to relax on a lavish superyacht in Ibiza – her 17th trip abroad since she quit her last post in November.

Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter moved to New York around three weeks ago to start work with a private equity firm, according to well-placed sources.

But despite friends insisting she was ‘determined to knuckle down’, she turned up on Thursday on Roman Abramovich’s £1.5billion super-yacht Eclipse, which was sailing near the Spanish island.

Her boyfriend Dave Clark was waiting for her on the Russian oligarch’s vessel, which is 536ft long and boasts two swimming pools, a pair of helipads, a cinema, saunas and a beauty parlour.

The party-loving princess then hopped on to a small boat to whisk her off to another nearby superyacht, Rising Sun, where she is thought to have been invited for drinks with US TV star Oprah Winfrey. The yacht is owned by American music mogul David Geffen.

And Beatrice’s life of Riley is set to continue as she flies on to Sotogrande in Spain to celebrate her 27th birthday with her mother today. It is understood her father plans to join them later.

The princess’s latest period of unemployment has seen her crisscross the globe, taking in four skiing breaks (three at her parents’ £13million chalet in Verbier and one in Aspen in the US), two trips to St Barts in the Caribbean in the space of less than a month, two trips to New York and two to Italy. She has also visited Greece, Florida, Bahrain, the Bahamas, China and the United Arab Emirates.

Throughout this time Prince Andrew’s website listed her as working ‘full-time in business’.

Last night a friend tried to play down her latest jaunt coming so soon after she began her job, saying it would have been planned long before she started work and that it is ‘perfectly normal’ for someone working in finance to take a few days off for their birthday.

It is not known when Beatrice will return to the US to resume her role. It is the third job she has had since graduating from Goldsmiths College in 2011. She previously worked for investment firm Cabot Square Capital and Sony Pictures, but quit both jobs after less than a year.

It is thought her decision to pack up her apartment in St James’s Palace – renovated with £250,000 of taxpayers’ money – and ship out to New York was in part because Mr Clark recently started working there for taxi firm Uber. Friends say they are sharing an apartment in Manhattan. A spokesman for the Duchess of York declined to comment.
