Is princess of pop Taylor Swift about to be queen of £4.6m fairytale Scots castle?
IT’S every young girl’s dream to be a princess and live in a castle.
But when you’re a pop princess and half of music’s No 1 power couple, that dream can easily become a reality.
Singer Taylor Swift is reportedly about to become the real- life queen of a fairytale Scottish castle.
The US superstar is understood to have set her heart on one of the country’s most picturesque properties – the Tower of Lethendy, near Blairgowrie in Perthshire.
The B- listed Scottish Baronial manor house dates back to 1570 and comes with almost 40 acres of grounds.
Swift, 25, who is dating Dumfries - born music producer Calvin Harris, is apparently keen to buy a place north of the Border to be nearer his family.
Yesterday, selling agent Savills confirmed there had been a lot of interest in the estate, which has a golf course, a swimming pool and two tennis courts.
But a spokesman refused to be drawn on whether or not the blonde Shake It Off singer was among them.
She said: ‘It is our policy not to comment on rumours or speculation surrounding any properties we are selling.
‘The property went on the market towards the end of June and there has certainly been a great deal of interest in it, naturally.’
The Edinburgh-based property expert added that its private location, together with easy access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports, made it an attractive proposition.
Boasting three reception rooms, eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the castle has been beautifully restored to an extremely impressive standard.
Built using local red sandstone, the Tower of Lethendy features a variety of turrets, towers, oriel windows and crow-stepped gables – everything you would want in a fairytale castle.
The estate, owned by a Canadian family, has been us e d as an upmarket wedding and letting venue.
Guests are suitably greeted by two stone lions that guard the grand front entrance.
Once inside, a sweeping staircase l eads f rom the ground floor to the first and s econd f l oors, t hen an enclosed spiral staircase provides access to the top floor.
The anteroom features a large open fireplace and leads into the drawing room, which has a bay window overlooki ng t he ga r dens, wit h magnificent views over the Perthshire countryside.
The library is perhaps one of the finest examples in Scotland, with custom-built floor-to-ceiling oak shelving.
The buyer will also get two gate lodges, two staff cottages and an estate workshop.
The 39-acre grounds include the private 18- hole golf course, the heated swimming pool and two tennis courts (one grass, one hard), as well as a croquet lawn and woodland. A walled garden houses apple, pear and plum trees, redcurrant and blackcurrant bushes and a variety of flowers.
Maintaining the estate would not be a burden for the singer while on tour, as it comes with six employees.
Nor would Miss Swift, who is reputedly worth more than £130million, be troubled by the asking price of offers over £4.6million.
Last year, she spent more t han double t hat on a penthouse apartment in New

York’s fashionable Tribeca district.
Her property portfolio also includes a home in Beverly Hills, California, an apartment in Nashville, Tennessee, and a colonial beachfront house on Rhode Island.
Miss Swift and Harris made their relationship public in April.
They are said to have earned £93million between them in the past year.
