Paedophile teacher ‘ living life of Riley’

- Daily Mail Reporter

OUT for a jog, paedophile teacher Jeremy Forrest enjoys freedom after his release from prison last month – while his new home is said to be a rent-free flat with ‘all the mod cons’.

The sex offender, who fled to France with a 15-year-old pupil in 2012, is reported to be living in a self-contained apartment with an in-house gym and an Xbox games console. He has been seen jogging in the park and heading to lunch in south-west London, where his home also has a kitchen, en-suite bathroom and garden.

The 33-year-old, who is originally from Aberdeen, was released from HMP Channing Wood in Devon last month, after serving less than three years of a fiveand-a-half-year sentence.

‘Everyone else just has a room or a shared room and has to share bathrooms and cooking facilities – but Forrest is getting special treatment due to his infamy,’ a source told the Sunday Mirror. ‘It’s got all mod cons included and is like his own penthouse. It’s usually reserved for lifers released from prison for a couple of days on temporary licence, so it’s extremely unusual for someone to be staying in it indefinitely like Forrest is.

‘He’s living the life of Riley in an expensive and trendy area of London without having to pay a penny in rent or bills.’

Forrest – then a teacher at Bishop Bell School in Eastbourne, East Sussex – arranged stays in hotels with the pupil, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, when she was 15. They fled to France and Forrest was jailed in 2013 for abduction and having sex with a minor.

He will spend the rest of his sentence on licence, a Ministry of Justice spokesman said, subject to ‘a strict set of conditions, which may include exclusion zones, non-contact orders and sex-offender treatment programmes, as well as being subject to the sex offenders’ register’.
