Was Mourinho right to castigate Chelsea medic?

-

THE sports medic Eva Carneiro gives every impression of a woman who fancies herself and, after long service at Chelsea FC, has grown too big for her boots. You can see the starlight in her eyes in the many semi-posed photographs of her. She is, after all, a medical practitioner, not a celebrity. Manager Jose Mourinho’s decision to ban her from first-team duties is clearly a case of the straw that broke the camel’s back. There have apparently been other occasions when she overstepped her position at the club. Incidentally, why do women always demand apologies?

MiKe PRentis, nottingham. With reference to the recent spat between Jose Mourinho and the Chelsea FC doctor Eva Carneiro. though i understand the reasons why Mourinho has made such a fuss over this incident. i also believe that there is another important factor to be considered. Eva Carneiro is a highly qualified doctor. that being so, i would assume she has taken the hippocratic oath. One of the main conditions of that oath is that a doctor’s chief concern is the wellbeing of the patient. i do not think Dr Carneiro did anything wrong, because had Eden hazard broken his leg, would Mourinho have left him on the pitch in agony for the two remaining minutes just on the off chance that Chelsea would score a goal? i don’t think so. So come on, Jose, be a man and apologise.

JOHN DICKSON, address supplied. SUPPOSE a multi-million-pound player is left crippled because no one took a look at the injury at the time? Would Mourinho mind that?

name and address supplied. JOSE MOurinhO’S players are to blame for the referee calling medical staff onto the pitch. the way these players go down, roll about and scream, one would expect an air ambulance to land on the pitch — only to see the player getting up and running.
