A disused quarry on Easdale is the perfect spot for the World Stone Skimming Championships, pictured above. Anyone of any age and level can enter. Join in the fun at the Pre-Skim Party the night before the event.

Lerwick, Shetland September 26-October 4 Come along to the sixth year of Shetland Wool Week, a world- renowned celebration of Britain’s most northerly native sheep. There will be an extensive range of exhibitions, classes and events, which will include weaving, spinning, dyeing, Fair Isle and lace knitting as well as much more.
