What tangled webs money spiders weave

IT is a sight that would captivate even the most ardent arachnopho­be.

Countless money spiders across the country are weaving homes ready for the mating season.

This picture was snapped near Beith, Ayrshire, yesterday.

The fog cleared to reveal the ham- mocks, which are only made visible by early morning dew.

‘There were thousands upon thousands of them,’ said James Williamson, who took the picture. ‘Every gorse bush was covered.

‘It was like they were a jewel with the way the dew shone.’
