Is Mr Bond really shaken and stirred?
AN extraordinary dispatch from the Hollywood bubble this week: Ralph Fiennes, luvvie-in-chief, has claimed that Daniel Craig, pictured, has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from playing James Bond.
yep, an actor in line for £39million for his role in a movie has a serious mental health issue because he is ‘filming for something like seven months, is in 95 per cent of the film and does all his own stunts’.
PTSD is a horrific condition. It plagues war veterans, rape victims, survivors of abuse and those who have endured serious traumatic incidents. I have met Iraq War veterans who have become so paralysed by PTSD that they are literally unable to leave their own house, trapped in a prison of their own terrifying memories.
Flippant comments such as Fiennes’s trivialise a serious – and seriously misunderstood – condition.
