Cooking pot wife killer is facing life

-

A MAN killed his partner with a cooking pot and a knife four days after he had been released early from a jail term for an earlier attack on her.

James Morley, 42, murdered 46-yearold Elaine Duncan at their home in Newmilns, Ayrshire, on April 18 last year following a row during a four-day drinking binge.

He hit her on the head and neck with the pot and stabbed and slashed her with the knife.

At the High Court in Paisley yesterday, Morley was found guilty of murder.

Judge Lady Scott remanded him in custody and deferred sentence until next month for reports from a psychiatrist and social workers.

But she told Morley: ‘You have been convicted of the murder of Elaine Duncan. There is only one sentence in law I can impose, and that is life imprisonment.’
