Katie shows a (lot of ) leg ... but Vine gets the boot
STRICTLY Come Dancing’s two journalist contestants made headlines this weekend – one by leaving, and one by leaving little to the imagination.
Jeremy Vine was voted off the BBC1 show last night after several weeks in which his popularity with the public kept him in the ballroom despite some questionable routines.
Meanwhile, on Saturday’s edition Katie Derham had the viewers glued to the screen with a sizzling rumba in a backless black and red dress split all the way up to her thigh.
Vine, 50, who was eliminated in a dance-off against singer Jamelia, said he felt a sense of relief because he had started to worry that he would soon cost a ‘good dancer’ their spot.
He had survived on Strictly ‘longer than I probably had any right to’, thanks in part to his popularity as a Radio 2 DJ.
On Saturday’s episode, which was watched by 10.24million, the biggest talking point was 45-year-old Radio 3 host Miss Derham.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: ‘Wow, Katie Derham looked amazing on Strictly.’ Another posted: ‘Katie Derham was gorgeous. Best Strictly dress ever!’
