A Gold Cup legend’s very racy memoir

-

The forthcoming memoirs of muchloved racehorse trainer henrietta Knight, 68, who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup three years in a row with Best Mate, should carry a government health warning.

Not only does the book include a saucy topless snap of henrietta posing at her Wantage stables, she also reveals that she and her late husband, former champion jockey Terry Biddlecombe, had a pre-race tradition the night before Best Mate’s famous triumphs.

Knight writes: ‘Terry was always a very passionate lover and lived for sex. In later years, he used to say to me: “Any place, any time.” Though he didn’t always get his way, we always had sex on the night before the Cheltenham Gold Cup because he maintained it brought us luck and he knew that I was superstitious.’

Gadzooks! Too much information, surely?
