Good, the bad and the ugly
AS the battle lines become drawn for the use of the Scottish Government’s’ new devolved powers it looks like we will get a choice between the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Ruth Davidson has said Scots will pay no more tax than the rest of the UK – that’s good.
Scottish Labour wants to increase the tax burden on middle earners. That’s bad, especially if you are a middle earner trying to buy a house in Aberdeen or edinburgh.
As for the SNP, John Swinney acts like a child being told to eat his gooseberry tart when faced with making tough decisions on tax and spending. Who knows what the Nationalists will do, but it will probably involve tax hikes, wrecking our education and health – then blaming Westminster. That’s ugly. KEITH SHORTREED, Methlick, Aberdeenshire.
