Clarke’s ‘pool table romp with minister’s adviser’
CONTROVERSIAL Tory election aide Mark Clarke is accused of having a long-term affair with former Tory aide India Brummitt.
It is claimed that he told friends that he once accidentally dislocated the 25-year-old’s jaw when he slapped her during a consensual sex session, requiring her to seek hospital treatment in the early hours. Clarke, who is married with two children, said the pair told doctors it was a netball injury.
Activists who went on Clarke’s pre-election Road Trips said they were shocked by the way Clarke and Miss Brummitt openly shared hotel rooms, and alleged he once had sex with her on a pool table in a South London pub.
One source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘We were all absolutely horrified. Mark was known for his outrageous behaviour but this was beyond the pale even by his appalling standards.’
Miss Brummitt, who has quit over the scandal, was an aide to Tory minister Claire Perry, who advises David Cameron on how to curb the ‘sexualisation of children’.
She lists her profession as ‘office manager’ at the House of Commons and has previously worked for Tory MP Aidan Burley.
She was a Road Trip organiser as well as a campaign manager in Wandsworth, South London.
Mr Burley stepped down as an MP in 2015 after he was accused of taking part in a Nazi-themed stag do in a French ski resort. Clarke and Miss Brummitt declined to comment.
