Last night Mrs Rossington said: ‘once I divulge this information, it does not matter if the Labour Party has suspended him or not, he will never ever have a political career again. It will end it – from the moment I open my mouth.’ Rochdale MP Mr Danczuk, 49, a campaigning politician who exposed his predecessor Cyril Smith as a predatory paedophile, was suspended by Labour after he admitted sending explicit messages to a girl of 17.
His behaviour yesterday provoked an astonishing outburst from his
first wife, who was married to him between 1996 and 2010. The couple had two children.
Mrs Rossington told a news site: ‘My God, what is he doing, he has a daughter not much younger than the girl he wants to “spank”, and his 18-year-old son has enough problems at university due to sharing the Danczuk name.
‘Why can he not think of his children and the devastating effect his selfish antics have on them? It has been one thing after another… Will he ever stop and think about the damage he is doing to his children?’
She said their 13-year-old daughter thought the revelations were ‘disgusting’, adding: ‘She said to me he is a dirty old man, a pervert.’
In a text sent to Mr Danczuk, Mrs Rossington said: ‘Can you please stop embarrassing them, they are children growing up with your surname. If you resort to stripping yourself of any further dignity, I will change your

Speaking outside her five-bedroom terraced house in Blackburn last night, she became emotional as she told how the sexting scandal had provoked her into planning an explosive revelation about her ex-husband’s past.
She added: ‘I was married to him for a long time, I know the way he operates … I have no doubt he will be plotting a tearjerking television interview seeking sympathy and we can expect the usual insincere apology.
‘But nothing ever changes with Simon, he thinks he can get away with anything … up to now he has. Hopefully this time the Labour Party and the general public will see him for what he really is, a despicable man.’
Mr Danczuk began exchanging messages with teenager Sophena Houlihan last year after she contacted him asking to do case work in his constituency office.
The texts became increasingly sexual and explicit, with the MP telling the 17-year-old he was ‘horny’ and wanted to ‘spank’ her.
The twice-married father – who was dumped by girlfriend councillor Claire Hamilton after she discovered the texts – has since apologised, claiming that he was at a ‘low point’ in his life.
Miss Houlihan, who only recently turned 18, has since accused Mr Danczuk of being ‘totally inappropriate’. She said she became attracted to the MP as they began exchanging texts that were ‘a little bit friendly’ and ‘flirty’ in July. After a month, Mr Danczuk asked how old she was and on learning she was only 17 replied: ‘Good for you!’
He even invited her to join him on a trip to Spain and requested a picture, to which she responded with a photo of herself in a revealing white body suit.
But the teenager, who wanted a career in politics, has since said she feels duped. She told The Sun: ‘What he did was totally inappropriate for a man in his position. If I was a year younger I would have been the same age as some of the Rochdale grooming victims he tried to help.’
Miss Houlihan added: ‘He shouldn’t have even entertained the messages I was sending him. It’s not professional at all.’
Following the break-up of his second marriage to selfie-loving councillor Karen Danczuk last summer, Mr Danczuk said his work exposing child sex abuse had left him depressed, revealing he was receiving psychiatric treatment.
Hundreds of his constituents have signed a petition calling for his deselection for the salacious messages with the teenager.
However, the MP’s allies last night suggested Miss Houlihan had set him up by leading him on with suggestive comments.
One friend said: ‘I’ve seen the messages and it certainly wasn’t Simon bombarding her, it was the other way around. To claim she was just an innocent girl just looking for a job is a bit ridiculous really.
‘If you’re after a job you don’t send images of yourself in lingerie to a would-be employer, do you?’
