Man is killed by girlfriend’s dog

A MAN died yesterday after being mauled by his girlfriend’s dog at home.

The 22-year-old was thought to have been suffering from a fit at the time, which triggered the attack.

An ambulance was called to his house in Preston, Lancashire, just before 4pm.

he was treated at the scene before being rushed to Royal Preston hospital, but he died just before 6pm.

Police were called to deal with the pet, which was later taken to a vet and destroyed. Following the tragedy, tributes to the victim poured in on Facebook.

Mizzy Saeed, 40, a neighbour, said: ‘he was a lovely person. heartbreak­ing.’

John Rawcliffe said: ‘Thoughts go out to his family and friends. Sleep tight mate.’

Detective inspector Jane Webb, from Preston CiD said: ‘This is a tragic incident in which a man has sadly died.

‘enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstan­ces and my thoughts very much remain with his family who are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.’
