I’ll stand by Danczuk, says woman who divorced him only last week
KAREN Danczuk yesterday vowed to s t and by her shamed ex-husband after it emerged the MP sent explicit texts to a teenager.
The 32-year-old said she would ‘ take complete control’ over Simon Danczuk’s life – despite their divorce being finalised just days ago.
Appearing on ITV’s Loose Women, Miss Danczuk said she would not ‘let him fail’.
Earlier, Mr Danczuk, 49, had told Good Morning Britain on t he same channel t hat he planned to fight a ‘malicious and upsetting’ historical rape claim made against him.

explicit text messages to 17-yearold Sophena Houlihan.
Following the revelation, several former lovers spoke out about the MP’s allegedly abusive behaviour and his battle with alcohol. But Miss Danczuk – whose marriage broke down very publicly last year – said the scandal had brought them closer.
She defended Mr Danczuk’s mistakes as ‘human’ – although she claimed not to be an ‘apologist’ and said she had in fact been ‘the first to give him a big rollicking’.
Under questioning from a panel that included ex-glamour model Katie Price, she said the MP needed ‘professional help’. She added: ‘I am so behind him. I won’t let him fail. I’ve told him, “Listen, this is what we’re going to do”. Literally, I’m going to take complete control over his life.
‘I will always have feelings for him because he is the father of our boys. I can’t just leave him.
‘He needs help and I’m going to help him. I couldn’t look my two boys in the eye and just say, “I’m leaving your dad out to hang”.’
Former Labour councillor Miss Danczuk became known as the ‘Selfie Queen’ over her love of posting revealing photos of herself on Twitter.
When she and her husband split over the summer, she claimed the rift was due to the fact he was ‘jealous’ over her new-found fame.
Mr Danzcuk has vowed to carry on as Rochdale’s MP despite the texting scandal. It later emerged Miss Houlihan, now 18, has a chequered past of her own – styling herself as a ‘dominatrix’ and selling her toenail clippings online.
It was also alleged that the MP’s first wife Sonia Rossington, 39 – who branded him ‘despicable’ over the texts – once advertised herself as an escort.
Mr Danczuk has been further rocked by news that police are investigating a rape claim against him from 2006. He told Good Morning Britain: ‘The police haven’t actually spoken to me. It’s a malicious allegation ... I’m completely clear that I will make sure that I fight it and clear my name.’
Asked by presenter Piers Morgan if the fact he has become a ‘laughing stock’ will affect his work, he replied: ‘I think what the public want are ordinary people to be [MPs] and that’s exactly what I am.’
