WHEN entertaining at a dinner party, the host is usually on his best behaviour.

But not so for Come Dine With Me contestant Peter Marsh, who shouted at his guests in a series of vicious tirades before ordering them to leave.

The 43-year- old salesman was taking part in the reality TV show in which strangers take turns to throw dinner parties for each other, rating the hosts out of ten.

Viewers hailed Monday night’s episode as ‘brilliant’ after Mr Marsh threw a tantrum when he learned he had finished last and missed out on the £1,000 prize.

Policewoman Jane Smith, 36, received the highest score from fellow guests for her dinner earlier in the week. Breathing heavily, Mr Marsh told her she had ‘all the grace of a reversing dump truck’.

Shaking his head and staring at his rival, he said: ‘You won Jane.

‘Enjoy the money. I hope it makes you very happy. Dear Lord. What a sad little life Jane. You ruined my night completely so you could have the money. I hope now you spend it on getting some lessons in grace and decorum because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.’

Fellow contestant Charlotte Hughes, 23, looked nervous as she told the host: ‘I don’t get it,’ to which he snapped: ‘ Well you wouldn’t, let’s be honest, there’s no one in there love.’

As he shot a glance down the camera lens, he asked his fellow contestants to leave the house.

Mr Marsh who had served a pecorino salad, slow-roasted rib of beef and a trio of desserts, then told the camera: ‘It’s a travesty that I didn’t win, an utter travesty.

‘The best food, the best presentation, the best table and I got graded under Adam, who produced a plate of vomit, under Charlotte who served up rancid chewy pork and undercooked brownie. So I lose and she wins. I hope she enjoys her money.’

The dramatic ending to the popular Channel 4 programme sparked a huge reaction on Twitter. One viewer commented: ‘That episode of Come Dine With Me was so brutal, so awkward… so brilliant.’

Another added: ‘And the world’s worst loser of 2016… Peter Marsh.’

Mr Marsh, thought to live in East Oxfordshire, told The Mirror: ‘What’s shown is not all that hap- pens and people will believe what they’re shown.’

Tensions between Mr Marsh and the winner came to a head on the final evening when she told him: ‘The way you’ve presented yourself, you have led us to believe you are quite a pompous human being, sorry.’ He responded: ‘I don’t think I’m in any way pompous. I’m actually quite offended now. Jane, would you prefer it if someone said “well you behave like a fat troll”?’

Despite being urged to stop for being ‘a bit personal’, Mr Marsh continued: ‘I am a better cook than you. I have put so much effort into this to make it special for you, not for those two. I knew the other two were here for the experience but not you, you were here to win and I wanted to show you I was worthy of your competition.’

Mr Marsh was given 14 points out of 30, leaving him in last place. On discovering the result he told the diners: ‘Get off my property.’

The three other contestants then celebrated with champagne outside his house. Miss Hughes tweeted about the episode yesterday, saying: ‘If only you could see the unedited version! It was A LOT worse.’
