Walking yourself in to serious trouble

I CAN’T say I have much sympathy for the couple who were kidnapped by a local tribe while travelling in Papua New Guinea. Yes Brit Matthew Iovane and his American partner Michelle Clemens, pictured, went through a terrible ordeal, being tied up, blindfolded and threatened with knives, but should they have been there in the first place?

The pair were hiking without a licensed tour operator, in a remote part of a dangerous country. Perhaps if they’d had more respect for their surroundings at first, this might never have happened.
