Trump wins thriller to secure place in semis

-

JUDD TRUMP edged into the semi-finals of snooker’s Masters at Alexandra Palace with a nail-biting 6-5 victory over Neil Robertson. In total, a high-quality quarter-final contained six century breaks with Trump’s 140 in the ninth frame the highest score in this year’s event. It took a deciding frame to separate the rivals after they found themselves locked at 5-5, and it was Trump who rose to the occasion with a magnificent 129 to seal victory and set up a semi-final against Barry Hawkins today. ‘If ever I’m the underdog I seem to play well and whenever I’m the favourite I put too much pressure on myself,’ said Trump. ‘I’m 26 now and it’s about time I started winning titles. For me, that was a big win.’
