Currie’s girl in road rage storm with Page 3 model

She gets 7 points after hitting pin-up’s 4x4 in a camper van

A FOUL-mouthed road rage row with a former Page Three model has led to Edwina Currie’s daughter being hauled before a magistrates’ court.

Single mother Deborah Currie, 41, had apparently been driving through a quiet village when she scraped against a 4x4 heading in the opposite direction.

The woman driving the silver Land Rover Freelander was retired 1990s pin-up Debbie Corrigan, who was once a Generation Game girl and used to date comedian Jim Davidson. Annoyed that the motor- ist who had clipped her car had not pulled over, the ex-model did a Uturn and drove off after Currie, Buxton Magistrates’ Court heard.

John Cooper, prosecuting, said she overtook Currie’s camper van and swerved in front of it, bringing it to a halt in the nearby village of Buxworth, Derbyshire.

Miss Corrigan – now known as Deborah Nickisson – told police she got out of her car and tried to remonstrate with Currie, but the Tory politician’s daughter shouted: ‘Oh just **** off.’ Then as she demanded her insurance details she claimed Currie pushed her away from the van with its door.

The former glamour girl told officers: ‘She put her hand against my face and pushed me. Then she handed me a paper with her stepfather’s details on it and said, “That’s all you’re getting. Now **** off!”’

Currie had already pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident and failing to report the incident. On Thursday magistrates were told no evidence would be offered on a charge of driving without due care and attention. Richard Ling, mitigating, said there had only been minor damage to the 4x4 and pointed out that no one had sustained any injuries. He claimed Currie had given her stepfather’s details as the van she had been driving belonged to him.

‘She did not report it because, as far as she was concerned, it was just a clip of wing mirrors,’ he added. Magistrates ordered Currie, who had no previous convictions, to pay a total of £324 in fines, costs and victim surcharge. She was also given seven penalty points.

Outside court Currie, who lives with her nine-year- old daughter Zoe, said: ‘I was not the aggressor. She drove after me then swerved in front. I probably did swear back, but she massively overreacted.’

Mrs Nickisson met Davidson on the Generation Game in 1996 and was offered a role in his X-rated panto Sinderella. After a string of rows the pair split three years later.

Currie herself is no stranger to glamour modelling as she once posed semi-naked with fake fried eggs on her breasts. She also launched a pop career for a stunt, was a TV agony aunt and a receptionist at Stringfellows nightclub.

Outside court, Mrs Nickisson said: ‘I’ve no axe to grind with the Currie family. The matter has been dealt with as far I’m concerned.’
