FOLLOWING her heartbreaking divorce last year, Kirsty Gallacher fought hard to get her life back on track.

Now the TV star and model, 40, has revealed that staying in shape helped her cope with the stress of her marriage breaking up.

Miss Gallacher recently ended her 15-year relationship with husband Paul Sampson, five years after they got married. The couple have sons Oscar, aged ten, and five-year-old Jude together.

She said: ‘I’m quite a controlled person and I felt like I was losing control.

‘Everything was very difficult, very sad – two kids in the midst of a divorce.

‘I just thought, “I need to put myself into something really positive and something that’s going to help me through it.”

‘The exercise wasn’t to do with what I looked like. It was to do with how I felt – I wanted to feel healthy, fit and able to cope with all the stress.’

Stripped down to a sexy blue and black bodysuit, Miss Gallacher showed off her flawless physique as she posed for Fit & Well Magazine.

Miss Gallacher is currently training for Gordon and Tana Ramsay’s GTR100 Iron Man charity event. ‘I feel stronger now than I’ve ever felt. I’m in better shape,’ she said.

The presenter also revealed how her golfing legend father Bernard Gallacher’s recovery from a serious heart attack in 2013 inspired her to stay healthy. She explained: ‘My dad wouldn’t have survived if he hadn’t been fit. We were told, “This will be a test of his fitness.”’
