- By Jaya Narain

A SERVING woman police officer allegedly had sex on the balcony of a bar with a former colleague at a reunion party.

Shocked witnesses ‘ could not believe what they were seeing’ as the retired officer is said to have put his thumbs up and smiled at guests as the policewoman performed a sex act on him.

After the encounter, the man reportedly told colleagues: ‘I hope you all enjoyed that.’

Last night Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed it had launched an investigation and was reviewing CCTV.

The alleged incident took place more than a fortnight ago at the Rain Bar in Manchester.

Around 60 people are thought to have attended the event for retired officers.

The woman is said to have enjoyed drinking and chatting to colleagues at the party. But she and a former officer, who have not

been identified, then went on to the balcony where she allegedly performed a sex act on him, before the pair had intercourse.

One witness said: ‘Two officers at the bar were all over each other. Then they went outside on to the balcony.’

He told how the serving officer then performed a sex act on the man in full view of more than a dozen people.

He said: ‘He put his thumbs up while this was happening. They then had full sex, seen by a large number of people. People couldn’t believe what they were seeing.’

A police source said: ‘One would expect better standards of conduct from them. This is an extremely serious allegation and very embarrassing for the force.’

G MPs aid in a statement: ‘GMP’s Professional Standards Branch has received information regarding an incident at a city centre bar. We are continuing to make a number of enquiries and will take appropriate action if it becomes necessary.’
