MISSING . . . and FOUND!
THE DAILY MAIL offers readers a unique opportunity to re-establish contact with long-lost relatives and friends. Each week, MONICA PORTER features the story of someone trying to find a missing loved one, as well as a tale of people reunited. This column is produced in conjunction with the voluntary tracing service, Searching For A Memory, run by Gill and John Whitley.
‘I AM hosting a 50-year reunion of our school rugby team and there is only one member I have been unable to contact,’ writes Kevin Threlfall.
‘His name is Michael Latham Brennan and his last known address was in Durham City, where he lived in the Sixties.
‘ He attended Denstone College in Uttoxeter from 196267. His brother, Richard, was also at Denstone, in 1966-1971, and went on to be a solicitor. I would love to make contact with Michael before our reunion next month. My 1967 photo shows him standing on the far right next to the master.
‘I went to Denstone College, a boys’ boarding school near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire, at 13 in 1962.
‘In 1966-67 I played in the 1st XV and we were the first team ever to win all 14 matches in the rugby season. We were voted the best school team in Britain and beat great school sides such as Ampleforth, St Peters Of York, Whitgift, Stoneyhurst etc.
‘Our record still stands as the only rugby 1st XV team in Denstone’s 148-year history to have won every match. I ’ m now 67 and l i ve in Wolverhampton.’
Kevin is a former director of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, as well as a successful self-made businessman.
