THE CHAMPIONSHIP

-

Falkirk v Alloa

THE Bairns have, once again, closed in on second-placed Hibs and could go second with a win here today, while Alloa have struggled in recent weeks and are now eight points from safety after their loss to Livvy last week. This is the fourth and final league meeting of the campaign between the clubs, with Falkirk victorious in two of the last three clashes, keeping a clean sheet in both wins. Alloa have won just once in 22 attempts at the Falkirk Stadium. PROBABLE TEAMS: FALKIRK (4-4-2): Rogers; Muirhead, McCracken, Watson, Leahy; Alston, Vaulks, Kerr, Sibbald; Taiwo, Baird.

ALLOA (4-2-3-1): Gallacher; Finnie, Marr, Hill, Hamilton; McManus, O’Brien; Duffy, Hetherington, Caddis; Megginson.

Referee: Steven McLean.

Livingston v Dumbarton

LIVVY have picked up four points in their last two games and another win here today would bring the Sons even further into the relegation play-off mix. Both sides have won seven times in 19 matches at the Tony Macaroni Arena, but the spoils were shared when the teams last met here. Other than that draw, Dumbarton have won three of the last four. PROBABLE TEAMS: LIVINGSTON (4-4-2): McCallum; Halkett, Cole, Gordon, Longridge; Kakay, Telfer, Fotheringham, Stanton; White, Mullen.

DUMBARTON (4-1-4-1): Ewings; Saunders, Buchanan, Wright, Docherty; Barr; Walsh, Cawley, Lindsay, Waters; Nade.

Referee: Don Robertson.

Raith v St Mirren

FIFTY per cent of the meetings here have ended in a home win, as Raith have triumphed in 29 of 58 previous games against St Mirren at Stark’s Park. The last time they met in Kirkcaldy, the points were shared as the Buddies escaped with a 1-1 draw. This is the third league meeting between the sides as Raith were the victors when the teams met in Paisley. A home win would put Raith in the driving seat for the final promotion play-off place. PROBABLE TEAMS: RAITH (4-4-2): Cuthbert; Thomson, Toshney, Davidson, McKeown; Connolly, Callachan, Robertson, Craigen; Stewart, Panayiotou.

ST MIRREN (4-4-2): Langfield; Watson, Baird, Webster, Baird; Gallagher, Quinn, Mallan, McAllister; Shankland, Gow.

Referee: John Beaton.
