Will an eyebrow lift leave me looking startled?

SHE’S at the forefront of treatments to keep women looking younger for longer. Leading cosmetic skin expert Dr TRACY MOUNTFORD answers your questions on ageing . . .

QI’VE considered having Botox to give my eyebrows more definition but I’m wary of ending up with that scary, over-arched look. Is there another solution?

Asimple way to achieve a defined brow is to see a facialist who can reshape your brow. However old you are, you should avoid an over-arched brow. it’s a look which is ageing and tends to look contrived. The ‘low arch brow’ or ‘boy brow’, as championed by the l i kes of emma Watson and Natalie port- man, is a celebrity favourite as it looks natural and youthful.

As we age, the brow often descends, creating a hooded top eyelid, and horizontal frown lines appear in the skin. An anti-wrinkle injection can be used to shape the eyebrows naturally with no artificial-looking arch.

my signature technique involves injecting light sprinkles of brow-freezing solution softly across the area to ‘airbrush’ lines and wrinkles and enhance the features.

This is painless and t he results take about seven to ten days to take effect but last about three to four months. Fees start from £420.

skin-lifting treatments such as Ultherapy, which lift and tighten the skin, can also be used to enhance this look by redefining the brow line. it uses focused ultrasound energy to deliver heat to a skin depth that surgeons tighten when they do a brow lift, elevating the brow more naturally.

However, with treatments starting at £1,200, this approach is more expensive (though it lasts approximately 18 months) and is best for when the brow starts to drop a little with age.
