Smile! It’s another Jagger family wedding... and this time Mick rolls up to join the party
IT’S only weeks since the Jagger clan last got together for a big family wedding, but they’ve been celebrating again – and this time Sir Mick joined the party.
The glamorous ceremony on Saturday was to mark the marriage of Sir Mick and Jerry Hall’s son James, 30, to 27-year-old artist Anoushka Sharma.
It is the first time the proud parents have been seen together since Miss Hall, 59, married media mogul Rupert Murdoch, 85, last month.
The Rolling Stones singer had been said to be ‘staggered’ by the news of his ex marrying billionaire Mr Murdoch, who also attended Saturday’s celebrations.
Sir Mick and former model Miss Hall smiled alongside the bride and groom as they posed for family photographs at the celebration at Cornwell Manor in Oxfordshire.
The 72-year-old singer wore a green suit with an open-necked shirt, while Miss Hall was in a navy dress and hat with a light blue coat.
The groom opted for a bright blue suit and patterned shirt with no tie, while his new wife looked stunning in a lace bridal gown and veil.
It has been reported that the couple married at a low-key ceremony in upstate New York last September. The Oxfordshire party was attended by 200 guests, with the venue near Chipping Norton said to have been suggested by Mr Murdoch’s daughter Elisabeth, who lives nearby.
Bridesmaids, including Georgia May and Elizabeth Jagger, wore red outfits in different shades and styles.
Sir Mick, who is worth more than £235 million, has four children with Miss Hall from their relationship, which spanned three decades.
Their youngest son Gabriel, 18, ‘gave away’ the bride at the private ceremony with guests including Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and his wife Sally Humphreys.
And for the newlyweds’ first dance – under a large marquee surrounded by their friends and family – they shunned the Rolling Stones’ back catalogue, instead choosing It Must Be Love by Madness.
Also at the event was Sir Mick’s eldest daughter Karis, 45, and his youngest son Lucas, 16.
The groom – a musician turned actor – has seen his star rise considerably in recent months, since he starred in US drama Vinyl.
His mother married Mr Murdoch in London last month, with a private service at St Bride’s church in Fleet Street.
