Open wide! Dolphin has salmon supper
MOST people think of them as intelligent, cuddly creatures.
But as these stunning images show, when it comes to dinner time, dolphins are ruthless killers.
A hapless salmon in the Moray Firth inadvertently swam right into the jaws of a bottlenose dolphin – which promptly gobbled it up whole.
The pictures, taken on Thursday, were shot from the shore at Chanonry Point, a spit of land that stretches more than a mile into the Moray Forth near Fort George, Inverness-shire.
It is often hailed as the best place in the UK to see dolphins.
