‘Ronnie would be so proud’: Corbett Jr takes to stage
LIKE grandfather, like grandson. Ronnie Corbett’s widow, the former West End musical star Anne Hart, is to — next week — make her first public appearance since his funeral.
Anne Corbett, 83, will be in the audience at the performance of the Brighton Fringe Festival comedy, A Glass Of Nothing, in which her 18-year-old grandson, Dylan Corbett-Bader, has a leading role.
Dylan, the son of Ronnie’s actress daughter Sophie Corbett, has just been accepted by the National Youth Theatre, of which Dame Helen Mirren is a former member.
‘It’s wonderful news,’ says Anne. ‘Ronnie would be absolutely overjoyed and so proud of Dylan, as we all are.
‘Ron was an entertainer for 64 years, which is as long as the Queen has reigned. It’s lovely to know that the latest generation of the family has picked up the baton and is following us onto the stage to entertain the British public.’
EMPLOYMENT Minister Priti Patel shows an impressive dedication to leisure pursuits. The feisty Tory Europhobe was first past the post in the corporate entertainment stakes at last month’s Grand National, where she and husband Alex raced through £2,000 of hospitality from the Jockey Club over three days at Aintree. Ten days later, Metallica fan Priti scored two free passes for Crystal Palace v. Arsenal, courtesy of Stansted Airport. The perks of a high-flyer.
