Sliced avocado? Not for me, says Nigella

-

ALTHouGH Nigella Lawson was widely mocked last year for devising an avocado on toast ‘recipe’, her endorsement of the creamy fruit saw sales rise by 30 per cent in uK supermarkets.

Now, despite boosting its popularity, the wholesome TV chef has put her foot down about the pre-sliced kind, unveiled last month by M&S. ‘I’m not a fan of pre-sliced avocado — they go bad very quickly. No, not for me I’m afraid,’ she tells me. ‘I prefer to take the time to enjoy cutting my own vegetables and also it’s more economical because they don’t go bad as quickly. ‘But I suppose if you work in an office and you don’t have the time or the implements, then it’s a quick solution.’
