DIRECTOR’S DEALS
THE chief executive of kitchen maker Howdens Joinery has pocketed £6.8m after selling a third of his shares in the company. Matthew Ingle announced the sale of 1.4m shares in a stock market filing yesterday. The Yorkshireman started his career in a Huddersfield timber yard. In 1995 the married father-of-two bought Howdens from MFI Furniture.
He has done well out of the company. He was paid £5.2m last year, including a £572,000 salary, a £640,000 annual bonus and £3.6m of shares under the firm’s long-term incentive scheme. He also picked up a £172,000 payment towards his pension.
