Is marriage split why Lily’s selling off £4m estate?
SHE has been plagued by rumours about the state of her marriage – and now it seems Lily Allen is keen to make a fresh start on the home front.
The 30-year-old pop star has put her six-bedroom Cotswolds home on the market for £4.2million amid reports she is set to divorce her husband Sam Cooper, 37.
She bought the house for £3million in 2010 before marrying builder and decorator Mr Cooper in 2011.
The couple had been living in the property with their two daugh- ters Ethel, four, and Marnie, three, but Mr Cooper is reported to have moved out of the marital home last year.
Miss Allen is now understood to be living in London with her children. Her home is set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Gloucestershire and has been described by Vogue as: ‘An Englishcottage garden fantasy. The sort of place Mrs Tiggy-Winkle might have lived.
‘There are meadows strewn with wildflowers, dells dotted with daisies, rose gardens and endless picnic spots by streams or ponds.’
The Grade II-listed home, which dates back to 1660, also comes with a four-bedroom cottage, two barns, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and 7.5 acres of land.
Miss Allen’s decision to move to
‘Sam has not filed for divorce’
the Cotswolds was prompted by a desire to withdraw from the world of music and focus on a life of domesticity complete with Aga and wellies.
Mr Cooper has reportedly now filed for divorce from the star citing infidelity and Miss Allen was linked to London rapper Skepta. But Miss Allen hit back at the claims this week on Twitter. On Thursday, she wrote: ‘The story is untrue. Sam has not filed for divorce citing infidelity, neither have I. Wherever it came from, it’s a lie...’
Miss Allen and Mr Cooper met at Glastonbury in 2009 and got engaged the following year after Miss Allen suffered a stillbirth with their first child.
