Julie Duckworth is a hotel sales manager and model who lives in lisburn, Northern ireland. She has a daughter, kerry, 21. here, Julie reveals her tips to staying young. GET A FRINGE INVESTING in and maintaining your hair is a surefire way to look younger. As we age, hair can start to thin, and styles that once suited us may no longer flatter our faces.

But my one golden piece of advice is to get a fringe. They’re trendy, flattering and — the best part — hide any forehead wrinkles or lines! USE MORE BABY OIL I STARTED using baby oil on a cotton wool pad to remove my make-up in my teens, mainly because it was cheap! But it’s a routine I’ve stuck to for 30 years.

The oil is gentle on my skin and the make-up slides off — there’s no tugging or pulling of the gentle skin around the eyes, which I think has prevented wrinkles.

If my skin feels oily afterwards, I rinse with warm water. SWIM FOR A LEAN FACE SWIMMING works your whole body, but I swear it also helps to tone my face and reduce a double chin, which can naturally form as we age.

You use your facial muscles a lot when you swim, and this has helped to keep the skin around my face tight and prevent sagging. GO OUTDOORS I MAKE sure to spend time outdoors as often as I can — not only do gardening and daily dog walking keep you fit, but the fresh air is great for your skin.

Indoors, our skin is bombarded with chemicals from sprays and drying air from central heating and air conditioning. But outside, the fresh air helps to wake up our skin and keep it fresh. Try to go make-upfree at the weekends, too. Your complexion will thank you for it. STAY SINGLE AS a divorcee, I think being single helps me to focus and concentrate on my needs and goals. I’d look and feel different if I’d remarried. On a superficial level, it also means I have more time to maintain my appearance and keeps me on my toes.
