Vodafone service woe
VODAFONE customers could face months of more misery as the company battles to solve IT problems which have seen thousands sent incorrect bills.
Sales at the telecom firm’s British arm fell 11.4pc to £1.5bn in the three months to July as consumers shunned it in favour of rivals with better service.
Bosses said they were disappointed with the service the firm had been providing. They have trained 4,000 staff in an effort to improve the situation. Chief executive Vittorio Colao said: ‘We’re seeing fewer and fewer billing mistakes. There’s probably one more quarter of hard work.’
Bosses nonetheless said their customer base was ‘stabilising’ and that 26,000 UK subscribers had signed contracts. Colao also played down speculation Vodafone’s headquarters might move abroad in the wake of Brexit.
Shares rose 4.6pc, or 10.45p to 235.55p.
