Sir Rod’s knight to remember

-

SIR ROD STEWART had a party on Sunday to celebrate the knighthood he received in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The picture of the singer seated on a throne surrounded by acolytes was posted by his wife, former Ultimo lingerie model Penny Lancaster, 45, and captioned: ‘Knight to remember.’ Billed as a ‘knighthood Sunday dinner’, the menu card was emblazoned with a crown and the Union Jack colours, and featured ‘Noble prawn cocktail’ and ‘Royal lamb shank’.

Sir Rod, 71, has had to wait a long time for his K — his friend Sir Elton John received his gong more than two decades ago — so you can forgive him for making a song and dance about it.
