Written in blood... Depp’s claim that wife Amber had affair with Hollywood co-star
JOHNNY Depp accused his wife Amber Heard of having an affair in a message scrawled on a mirror in his own blood, court papers claim.
The actor, 53, is said to have claimed his 30-year-old estranged wife had been having an affair with her Hollywood co-star Billy Bob Thornton.
Court documents filed in Miss Heard’s domestic abuse case against Depp in the US say he cut off the tip of his finger during a fit of rage.
He is then said to have dipped his finger in blue paint before writing ‘Starring’, ‘Billy Bob’ and ‘Easy Amber’ on the mirror. The incident occurred in March last year while the couple were in Australia and Depp was ‘drunk and high on ecstasy’, US website TMZ reported.
It said that, according to Miss Heard, Depp smashed several bottles and windows and also slammed a phone against the wall. One of the broken items cut off part of his finger, she said.
Miss Heard starred in 2008 film The Informers alongside Thornton, 61, while they both also appear in London Fields, which is set to be released later this year. The photographs of the finger and writing have been entered as exhibits in the court case.
Miss Heard claims Depp did not have the finger treated for almost 24 hours and doctors had to use a flap of skin from his hand to fashion a new tip. She denies having a sexual relationship with Thornton and says Depp frequently accused her of having affairs.
Depp and Heard were married in 2015 but she filed divorce papers in May.
A video posted on TMZ on Saturday appeared to show Depp slamming cabinets and drinking red wine. The incident – filmed by Miss Heard – ended with the actor trying to take the phone from her when he found he was being recorded.
