CELTS SUIT SETTLED SINCLAIR

- By JOHN McGARRY

SCOTT SINCLAIR has yet to settle upon a house in Glasgow but appears to have found a home at Celtic. In just five appearances, he has already scored three goals and was instrumental in seeing off Hapoel Be’er Sheva to qualify for the Champions League group stage. The hero status he was instantly afforded is in sharp contrast to the sense he was being marginalised at Manchester City and simply wasting away at Aston Villa. ‘It’s been some start to my Celtic career and the draw is just another huge bonus,’ said the 27-year-old. ‘It’s one of the main reasons I came to Glasgow, to play Champions League football. ‘The manager initially just wanted me back playing football and the enjoyment is coming back. I’m playing week in, week out and I will improve. ‘At City I didn’t really feel a part of things the way I should have. You were either a sub or completely left out Here it’s totally different. I feel at home already and a big part of things. ‘It’s all about building confidence and the manager and the games have given me that.’ If Sinclair feels bitter about his lack of opportunities over three years at City, he disguises it well. Claiming to be just as motivated by the prospect of facing Barcelona as his former employers, he said: ‘It’s an incredible draw. I was in the car yesterday when I found out. ‘I’m looking for a new house at the moment and my brother was keeping me up to date. To get Barca and Man City is amazing. ‘It’s a big draw and, for me, it will be great to go back to City. ‘We could have got an easier group, probably one not as glamorous. ‘It’s going to be extremely difficult but we have nothing to prove and nothing to lose. ‘We have an amazing couple of weeks coming up with the Rangers game and then heading to Barca. ‘I played in the play-off final for Swansea getting into the Premiership but I think playing at the Nou Camp will trump that. ‘Hopefully next week I can get a house and get settled.’
