HOW I love

the exquisite and utter joy of Ed Balls on Strictly Come Dancing. Already the former Labour Cabinet minister is everything we dreamed and hoped he would be; a dad-dancer extraordinaire, a man who moves across the floor with the ease and syncopation of a lopsided fridge. Yet there is a joy in his performance and a delight in the facial expressions he pulls when he grooves. Ed exhibits the trombone lips of a man who is Blowing Up Balloons along with the ever-popular Why Is My Tongue Suddenly Too Big For My Mouth? Marvellous. I love wife Yvette Cooper in the audience, wearing an expression that mixes terror with pride. I hope he makes it through Week Two!
