Law and disorder
I WONDER if Nicola Sturgeon is proud of the low level to which Scotland has sunk after nine years of the SNP governing our justice system.
That the attacker of two police officers in Glasgow (Mail) be let off with a slap on the wrist – and that the attack was filmed by jeering onlookers – just beggars belief. FIOnA KErr, Edinburgh. YOUR pictures of the two police officers being photographed by onlookers while struggling to arrest a thug are disgusting and depressing but unsurprising in modern Scotland.
Some sections of the public have always hated the police but this attitude seems more widespread now, helped by a justice system which is dysfunctional and virtually lets criminals get away with murder. The bond between the police and the communities they serve is disappearing and much of the blame must lie with Nicola Sturgeon and her colleagues who seem only interested in gaining independence for Scotland.
Miss Sturgeon can no longer blame Westminster for government failures here. The buck stops with her and she should be held accountable.
