Mike’s band aid!

-

MucH has been written about Mike Ashley’s treatment of his staff, but he should also be praised for his occasional acts of kindness, such as the time he made a surprise visit to sports Direct’s warehouse.

He encountered a youth who was walking around with the sole of his trainer flapping about. He said to the boy: ‘son, you can’t walk about the warehouse like that, it’s dangerous.’

the boy replied: ‘I’m sorry, Mr Ashley, but I am on a zero-hours contract, and I haven’t had much work for a month. But when I do get enough hours, I intend to buy myself a new pair of trainers.’

Ashley pulled a large wad of £50 notes from his pocket, took off the rubber band and said: ‘Here, son, put this round your shoe to stop it flapping.’ It just goes to prove there is good in everyone!
