GP lottery

IF YOU want to make an appointment with a GP at my doctor’s surgery, you have to ring at 8am, but the line is constantly engaged. If you get through, the receptionist will question you as to your illness and tell you the doctor will phone back within an hour.

I know from experience that diagnosis over the phone is not a good idea. Last winter, I was told over the phone I probably had a winter flu virus. A week later I was in hospital with pneumonia. It’s a useless system.
