Send them North

PARLIAMeNT has to leave the Palace of Westminster for six years for essential repairs to stop it falling down (Mail).

Let us move Parliament to the Northern Powerhouse for this time. Parliament could still meet in London for one month of the year for its State Opening. When the building work at Westminster is completed, consideration could be given to its future as the seat of government or as a theme park of 1,000 years of royalty and empire. RoGER RoWLAND,

Murcott, oxon. BOTh houses of Parliament are money pits, antiquated, noisy and full of leaks. The buildings are also in need of renovation.
