Why am I more wrinkly on one side of my face?
QI’M 66 and have wrinkles, but recently they look much worse on the right side of my face. This is the side I sleep on. Despite trying to sleep on my back, I always revert to the right side during the night.
The uneven wrinkles have made my face look unsymmetrical and unbalanced. Is there anything I can do to improve my appearance?
AInterestIngly, deep wrinkles on the right side of the face can be more common than on the left side.
this can be due to a variety of reasons, including UV light exposure while driving, which can cause collagen breakdown and can contribute to the loss of firmness in your skin. It can be exacerbated by lying on the same side when sleeping.
restoring the balance and eliminating these lines is something non-surgical medicine can address easily. I would start with subtly replacing some of the lost volume. this simple procedure can be performed in a single treatment. I would use a product such as Juvederm, which looks very natural.
this technique alone may be enough to sort out the problem and the result will last about a year. But it does require an annual topping up.
If you have deep lines, I would finish off using a laser or Intracel treatment, which combines radio frequency with microneedling, to improve the quality of the skin. Depending on the extent of the wrinkles, the cost would start at £550 for Juvederm and £650 for laser/Intracel.
