Mobiles madness

-

THE epidemic of drivers who use mobile phones at the wheel (Mail) is indicative of the way in which people have become addicted to social media.

How often have you had to avoid pedestrians who are more interested in their phones than watching where they are going? How often have you been distracted in the theatre or cinema by the light from mobile phones? How often have you had to wait to use a piece of gym equipment because someone is too busy checking their phone to actually do anything on the apparatus? The list is endless

Often it is merely annoying but doing so whilst driving is the highest degree of stupidity and deserves to be punished accordingly. And how long before clinics have to be set up for social media addicts?

name and address supplied. WE may be living in a free society, but has this freedom become our Achilles heel? Perhaps it is time to realise that travelling on wheels demands some discipline - no drink and no drugs and no talking on mobiles.
