Savings cost

It’s all very well trumpeting the savings from the loss of a million state jobs (Mail), but the downside is that much of these employees’ work is now in the hands of outsourcers, such as the cowboys highlighted by Margaret Hodge, including a boss who pocketed nearly £9million of taxpayers’ money while claiming to have steered jobless people back into work.
