ANOTHER SNP MP IS QUIZZED BY POLICE

Chris Law is third Westminste­r Nationalis­t facing investigat­ion into financial affairs

THE SNP was plunged into fresh turmoil yester- day after a third MP was investigat­ed by police over their finances. Chris Law was detained and questioned by officers on Wednesday, only 24 hours after his former colleague natalie McGarry was charged with embezzleme­nt. Dundee West MP Mr Law was quizzed over allegation­s made about his Spirit of Independen­ce referendum campaign.

This saw him travel around Scotland in a refurbishe­d Green Goddess fire engine before the 2014 vote – where he claimed to have raised £30,000 while handing out two tons of leaflets.

Mr Law is now the third of the 56 nationalis­t MPs elected in the 2015 General Election ‘surge’ to be quizzed by police over financial dealings.
