Best way to diet? Weigh yourself daily – and don’t watch Bake Off!
IF you’re trying to shed the pounds, the most effective approach is to get on the scales every day – and ditch Bake Off.
This is according to a poll of 1,000 slimmers who selected the ten most effective tips to stay on track when on a diet.
The third and fourth best ideas were snapping a topless selfie every three days to show your weight loss and using smaller plates
The sure-fire tips were revealed by weight loss firm Forza Supplements. They gave dieters a list of 50 weight-loss tips and asked them to pick the ten best.
Weighing yourself daily came out on top, while switching off TV cookery shows like The Great British Bake Off came second. Throwing away your cookbooks was the fifth most popular option, so you are not tempted to cook and eat mouthwatering but calorific recipes.
Cutting out the big weekly shop at the supermarket came sixth – as if you have lots of food in the house, you tend to eat more.
In seventh place was making sure that your partner or a close friend diets with you, as peer pressure is another big motivator.
Getting rid of snack cupboards at home was eighth – stopping temptation at weak moments.
Cutting back on alcohol consumption was in ninth place, and going to bed earlier was the tenth most popular choice. Hitting the pillow earlier means you are awake less long in the day to eat, and you feel healthier.
