Pills scam faked Murray claims

-

ANDY MURRAY has become the latest celebrity to have his name and image used in a fitness pill scam.

An advert on Facebook uses Murray’s face with the caption ‘Tennis legend gone’ along with a bogus link to the website of sports giant ESPN.

Once on the page, an article allegedly written by senior staff writer Ryan Hasman appears. The headline wrongly claims Murray, pictured, is under investigation by tennis authority the ATP along with a fake quote from him saying ‘I have done nothing illegal, everyone is using these and the ATP knows that.’

It is followed by an advert about nutritional supplements Noxor and Androx which it claims tennis players have used.

The article says they are commonly taken together by athletes but that the ATP plans to ban them.

Links to further sports stories lead to a page where the pills can be ordered.
